' The Awakening Heart' with Peter Forster and "Soulssong"

Music and sound have the ability to heal us. Sometimes parts of us we didn't even know were in need. Certain music and sound combined with the innate ability of Reiki to work at the causal level of disharmony give Peter Forsters work a magic that takes us deep into our heart centre. I have used Peters music with my Reiki work for a number of years and have always been awed by the way it brings people back to the heart centre where we all belong. I frequently see people go into deep states of healing while receiving Reiki with Peters music drawing every cell of the body back to it's heart connection. While being soothing and uplifting to the soul much of his work is experienced at a vibrational healing level that resonates to the core.
To create at this level Peter begins from the earth herself being inspired by and recording her voice in the sound of water, birdsong and bush. He has then used beautiful natural materials to make the instruments he plays. Peter specialises in making and playing Lakota style North American flutes with a delicately carved totem creature. He also makes acoustic guitars thus drawing the creative energy through to his music. That creativity is maintained throughout the process of birthing the music to the world as he composes, records and produces his own music including the photography work for his CD covers.

I feel this is one of the reasons his music retains the pure heart intent and releases the healing vibrations it does. So many of us are divorced from the natural world and our natural spirit in the bustle of the everyday world. Peter Forsters music reconnects you to the heart and the mother earth which allows the higher self to flow with ease. Peter has told me that he enters a very different space when creating and he acts intuitively as a conduit for the healing heart. An interesting aspect that I've noticed is that sometimes I will be listening to the same CD of Peters up to 8 times a day whilst giving treatments - and I never tire of the music - and it never fails to help bring the person I'm treating and myself into a healing space. Try playing any other hour long CD 8 times a day! Imagine my delight to find that after 7 years in Europe this gifted musician was returning to NZ. I am determined to help bring 'Soulssong', (Peters very appropriate trading name), to as many kiwis as possible after Europe has been benefiting for so long.

Peter also teaches Voice, Sound and Overtone singing workshops after having trained with top sound healers in Europe. I organised a workshop in North Otago in October last year which people enjoyed so much they were asking when the next one would be held. So there will be a 'Soulssong' two day workshop in Oamaru and in Gore during early April. These workshops are for anyone who would like to benefit from using their voice - no experience needed. The throat and heart chakras expand as everyone learns in a friendly, easy going atmosphere. Learning basics of the ancient and surreal art of Overtone singing is a unique part of the weekend. It doesn't matter if you've never sung before, this workshop is guaranteed to give you confidence and reconnect you to the beauty of the natural voice you were born with - all mixed in with lots of joy, fun and laughter. The Friday before each workshop there will be a Reiki Retreat day featuring Peters music as we bliss out on Reiki, neck and shoulder massage, chakra balancing, foot spas, stress release and guided meditation.These Retreat days are open to all to experience this gentle energy, not just those with Reiki.
Along with the workshops Peter will be doing a concert tour around the lower South Island visiting Geraldine, Oamaru, Dunedin, Gore, Stewart Island and Arrowtown during between March 30 and April 12th. Peter has been a professional musician for 10 years and during that time he has released 5 CDs selling over 10,000 copies worldwide.

Peters recently released CD, "Beyond Knowing", is a real treat for mind, body and soul.

"Beyond Knowing" expresses movement, growth and takes you on an inner journey. It is a tapestry of lyrically strong and melodic songs with some tracks produced by Eddie Rayner. The capitivating voices of Susanne Hall and Jala Raimon complement the songs Peter has crafted and performs. My personal favourite 'The Blessing and the Blessed' captures the oneness of all and reminds us that the treasure we search for lies within us rather than being an external tangible. It reminds me that we are love - temporarily solidified, and there is always enough.
I also love the depth and simplicity of 'Born to Live and Die', with it's strong heart beat, drum beat rhythm - a song to sing under a clear night southern sky.

'Realise', is a great flowing dance number that urges us to realise we contain infinite wisdom if only we listen to our inner selves.
'Don't Push the Love Away' gives us another message of courage and awareness. Most are love songs on this special CD as need be when allowing the heart to open and grow.

Enchanting, healing, magical. Peters music ranges from sublimely meditative to lyrically beautiful, joyful and fun while still holding heart healing vibration.

"I'm so pleased I can't find words to express how grateful I am. It's an amazing flute and the sound is magical. When I took the flute in my hands and tried it the first time a great melody came out of the flute which I have record for few minutes ago. I will use this melody in a song I've wrote.
